Location: Redditch
Hours: 08:00 – 17:00 Monday to Friday
Salary: £34,000 – £36,000 (dependent on experience)
HR Employment are currently recruiting for an Ocean Freight/Multimodal Operator for an existing client in Redditch, who are currently going through a period of growth. The core focus of the role is sea freight import and export operations, but you will also support airfreight and road freight bookings as part of your development into a fully multimodal operator. This role is ideal for someone with strong sea freight knowledge who is looking to broaden their logistics skills, work collaboratively with internal teams, and deliver excellent service to customers and partners.
Previous skills and experience required:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in sea freight operations
- Strong understanding of international forwarding processes
- Experience with customs clearance procedures
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong organisational and time management abilities
- Proactive problem-solver with a positive approach
- Experience in airfreight or road freight is desirable but not essential (training provided)
Main duties of the role include:
- Efficient handling of import/export files with minimal errors
- Consistent, proactive communication with customers and partners
- Professional handling of operational issues and timely resolution
- Positive contribution to multimodal growth via outbound customer calls
- Maintaining accurate documentation, costings, and invoicing
- Developing knowledge in air and road freight to support multimodal capability
- Strong teamwork and reliable daily performance
