The company are an established manufacturer of machined and forged parts and components. They are seeking to recruit a Quality Manager for their operations in Dudley.
Job Summary: The Quality Manager with Health & Safety responsibilities is responsible for overseeing and improving the organisation's quality systems while also supporting compliance with health and safety standards. The role ensures products, services, and processes meet required standards and regulations, and that a safe working environment is maintained across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS), aligned with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 (EMS).
- Lead internal and external audits, managing audit preparation, execution, and follow-up.
- Monitor and report on quality performance metrics; drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Manage non-conformance investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective/preventive actions.
- Ensure quality control processes are embedded in daily operations.
- Liaise with customers and suppliers regarding quality matters and complaints.
- Support the development and implementation of H&S policies and procedures in line with regulatory requirements (e.g., OSHAS 18001).
- Conduct basic risk assessments and promote safe work practices across departments.
- Assist with incident investigations and support the implementation of corrective actions.
- Coordinate basic H&S training and awareness programs for staff.
- Maintain required health and safety documentation and reports.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Knowledge of the forgings / fasteners and foundry industries.
- Experience with ISO 9001 (Lead Auditor certification preferred).
- Basic Health & Safety training (e.g., NEBOSH Certificate or IOSH Managing Safely desirable).
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in a quality management role, ideally with some exposure to H&S duties.
- Strong analytical, organisational, and communication skills.
- Working knowledge of quality tools (e.g., 5 Whys, FMEA, SPC).
- Attention to detail with a proactive, solution-oriented mindset.
- Comfortable working cross-functionally with production, engineering, and leadership teams.
The role is based in Dudley so is commutable from Birmingham, Kidderminster, Walsall, Wolverhampton, West Bromwich, Lye. Salary is £35k to £42k per annum. The role is a Days role (Monday to Friday). The company environment is a friendly, supportive one. Social events, onsite free parking are benefits to the role.
