We are currently recruiting for an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join a busy engineering team within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for planned preventative maintenance as well as responding to breakdowns, ensuring all machinery and equipment operates safely, efficiently, and in line with production requirements. This role involves working 4 on / 4 off across days and nights, covering a 7-day operation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance on machinery and equipment
  • Respond promptly to emergency breakdowns to minimise downtime
  • Install new equipment and support machine moves and overhauls
  • Diagnose faults and carry out repairs, including work on PLCs
  • Perform electrical installations on single and three-phase systems
  • Work closely with production teams to support operational priorities
  • Identify and report any risks to product safety or quality
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment in line with GMP standards
  • Coordinate and supervise contractor activities
  • Communicate effectively with management regarding breakdowns, repairs, and downtime
  • Undertake additional engineering duties as required

Skills & Experience Required

  • Ideally holds a recognised engineering or electrical qualification
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or food production environment is desirable but not essential
  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and use own initiative
  • Good communication skills with the ability to work effectively across teams
  • Flexible approach with the ability to prioritise workloads under pressure
  • Willingness to continuously develop skills and knowledge
