Purchasing Manager in Cannock

Overview

A leading multi-site manufacturing business in the Midlands is seeking an experienced Purchasing Manager to oversee purchasing and supply chain operations across their three locations. The organisation operates across multiple sectors, utilising advanced manufacturing techniques.

Responsibilities

• Managing and developing the purchasing and goods-inwards teams
• Ensuring materials and services are delivered on time, to budget, and to specification
• Manage day-to-day procurement activities, build strong supplier relationships
• Implement category strategies, and support new product introductions in collaboration with engineering and commercial teams
• Sustainability within the supply chain will also be a key focus

Requirements / Qualifications

This is a strategic and hands-on role, ideally suited to a confident, organised, and detail-oriented professional with experience in manufacturing procurement (plastics experience advantageous). Strong IT skills (Excel, Outlook, MRP systems), excellent communication, and the ability to lead and develop a team are essential. A degree or professional procurement qualification (e.g., CIPS) is preferred.

The role is based primarily at one Midlands site, with travel across all sites required. It offers a 39-hour working week and a salary of £50,000–£55,000 per year plus pension, depending on experience
