We are seeking a hands-on Quality Manager to lead our Quality function and continue developing a robust IATF 16949 Quality Management System whilst building strong customer relationships and driving continual improvement.
Purpose of the Role The Quality Manager is responsible for the leadership of the Quality Department and ownership of the company's Quality Management System.
The successful candidate will ensure compliance with IATF 16949, ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and customer-specific requirements whilst developing the Quality team and driving continual improvement across the business.
The Quality Manager will lead the quality function; the Quality Engineer will lead day-to-day customer investigations and 8D activities.
Key Responsibilities Own and continually improve the IATF 16949 Quality Management System.
Maintain ISO 9001, IATF 16949 and ISO 14001 certifications.
Lead all customer, certification and internal audits.
Conduct Management Reviews and report Quality KPIs.
Develop quality strategy and continuous improvement initiatives.
Coach and develop the Quality Engineer and Quality Technicians.
Review and approve customer 8D reports and corrective actions.
Ensure effective implementation of Automotive Core Tools.
Lead contract review activities for new customer requirements.
Develop and maintain Quality Procedures, Control Plans and supporting documentation.
Build strong relationships with key customers and represent the business during customer visits and audits.
Work closely with Operations to reduce defects, improve process capability and strengthen customer confidence.
Essential Experience Minimum five years' experience leading Quality within an automotive manufacturing environment.
Strong working knowledge of IATF 16949.
Experience managing Quality Management Systems.
Excellent understanding of PPAP, APQP, FMEA, SPC and MSA.
Experience leading customer, certification and internal audits.
Experience leading quality teams.
Strong customer-facing communication skills.
Proven experience managing difficult customer quality issues.
