The predicted salary is between 14 - 14 £ per hour.

HR Employment Bureau are looking for an experienced Laser Programmer to work with one of their prestigious clients based in the Nottingham area.

Working hours: 09:00 - 17:00

Pay Rate: £14.00ph (increases after probation period)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Produce accurate laser cutting programs from customer drawings and CAD files.
  • Create efficient nests to maximise material utilisation and reduce waste.
  • Generate production documentation, including route cards and work instructions where required.
  • Ensure programs meet customer specifications and quality requirements.
  • Work closely with Production Planning to prioritise urgent work and meet delivery deadlines.
  • Liaise with Estimating and Sales regarding manufacturability and material requirements.
  • Review customer drawings and identify potential manufacturing issues before production.
  • Maintain accurate programming records and documentation.
  • Support continuous improvement by reviewing programming methods and improving efficiencies.
  • Assist with troubleshooting production issues relating to programmed parts.
  • Communicate effectively with shop floor operators to resolve programming queries.
  • Ensure revision control is maintained for customer drawings and programs.
  • Support new product introductions and prototype work.
  • Comply with all Health & Safety policies and company procedures.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Previous experience programming laser cutting machinery within a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Experience using CAD/CAM programming software.
  • Strong understanding of sheet metal fabrication processes.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Good mathematical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads.
  • Computer literate with experience using Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience with Bystronic BySoft, Trumpf Boost, Solidworks or similar programming software.
  • Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems.
  • Experience within precision engineering or sheet metal manufacturing.
  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement principles.
