As we continue to grow, we’re looking for a Project Engineer to join our team and play a key role in supporting the successful delivery of customer projects from concept through to completion.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer looking to develop their project management skills within a fast-paced, technically demanding manufacturing environment.

The Role

As a Project Engineer, you’ll work closely with our Project Managers, Engineering, Operations and Commercial teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, to specification and to the required quality standards.

You’ll be involved throughout the project lifecycle, helping to coordinate technical requirements, manage project documentation and trackers, resolve issues and ensure effective communication between internal teams and customers.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

Key responsibilities:

  • Support the delivery of multiple projects from handover through to completion
  • Coordinate with Engineering, Production and Commercial teams to meet project requirements and deadlines
  • Monitor project progress, identifying risks, issues and potential delays
  • Assist with project planning, scheduling and tracking
  • Prepare and maintain project documentation, including BOMs, trackers and reports
  • Interpret technical drawings, specifications and engineering data
  • Liaise with customers and suppliers where required
  • Support the introduction of new products and processes into manufacture
  • Assist with project meetings, reviews and progress reporting
  • Help identify opportunities to improve efficiency, quality and project delivery
  • Escalate technical, commercial or delivery issues to the Project Manager where appropriate
  • Support Project Managers with the successful delivery of larger and more complex programmes

Key Skills and Competencies

The Candidate

  • Eligibility to work in the UK – no sponsorship will be offered
  • Must be able to commute to work using own vehicle – rural site
  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
  • Experience working within a manufacturing, engineering, composites or automotive environment
  • Strong technical understanding and ability to interpret drawings and technical data
  • Confident communicating with internal teams, customers and suppliers
  • Able to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Proactive approach to identifying and resolving problems
  • Comfortable working independently and as part of a cross-functional team
  • Strong desire to develop a career within project management

Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience in a Project Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer, Design Engineer or similar role
  • Experience working on projects within manufacturing, composites, automotive or aerospace
  • Understanding of NPI/NPD and manufacturing processes
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Experience working with BOMs and project documentation
  • Good Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel and Word
  • CAD knowledge would be advantageous
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Experience working with customers or suppliers would be beneficial
  • Some UK travel and occasional international travel may be required
