Company Overview: We are a registered charity dedicated to putting smiles on the faces of local families supporting children or young adults who have additional needs. We provide enriching free family leisure activities in Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire, and Bristol. We are looking for a zero hour Operations Assistant. The hourly rate will be up to £12.71.
Key Responsibilities and Duties: As a member of our Operations Assistant team at The XC, you will play a vital role in creating a safe, welcoming, and enjoyable experience for all visitors. From greeting customers at reception, serving food and drinks, and ensuring facilities are clean and safe, to delivering memorable activity sessions such as escape rooms, Clip Climbing, and caving, you’ll be at the heart of our customer experience. Every penny of profit goes directly towards working with children with additional needs and their families. By delivering warm, friendly, and professional customer service, you’ll ensure every guest feels welcome and cared for, supporting our charitable mission of providing free inclusive activities to families. There will be ample opportunity to develop your skills through on-site training, online learning and external courses. Regular one-to-one and informal chats will help you grow and stay focused on the right path.
Key Skills and Competencies:
- Customer Service & Reception: Greet and serve customers warmly at reception. Upsell additional products, sessions, or memberships. Handle bookings, phone calls, payments, and enquiries efficiently.
- Safety & Cleanliness: Ensure complex safety conditions are consistently met. Maintain clean and tidy reception, caving, skatepark, climbing, and escape room areas. Follow health and safety standards at all times.
- Food & Beverage: Prepare and serve simple food such as nachos, pizzas, and garlic bread. Serve coffees and chilled drinks. Maintain hygiene and cleanliness in food preparation areas.
- Activity Delivery: Once trained, run Clip Climbing, Escape Room and caving sessions. Support the smooth running of escape room sessions, ensuring customers have a fun, safe, and memorable experience.
- Membership & Charity Support: Sell climbing memberships and promote our activities. Share our charity’s mission with customers, encouraging ongoing engagement.
Availability: Ability to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends.
