Job Overview
We are looking for experienced or newly qualified climbing instructors to join our team at the XC. Evening and weekend work is essential. Hours are flexible.
Key Responsibilities
- Climbing Wall
- Lead indoor climbing sessions for participants of all ages.
- Provide guidance on climbing techniques and offer personalized coaching to enhance climbers’ skills.
- Conduct thorough safety briefings and ensure all climbers understand and follow safety protocols.
- Monitor the climbing walls, maintaining a vigilant focus on safety and customer engagement.
- Lead taster sessions and encourage beginners.
- Occasionally set routes.
- Customer Service
- Provide guests with information about the facility’s activities, schedules, and safety requirements.
- Ensure every guest receives exceptional service, addressing any concerns or questions promptly and professionally.
- Help maintain cleanliness and organisation in the climbing area and throughout the facility during downtime.
- Perform routine cleaning tasks, including vacuuming, tidying equipment, and tidying common areas.
- Ensure that all areas meet cleanliness and safety standards.
- Other Facility Support
- Assist with reception duties, housekeeping, caving instruction, and high‑ropes facilitation when staffing needs arise or when the area is less busy.
- Keyholding
- Work closely with other instructors and staff to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Provide support and mentorship to junior staff as necessary.
- Key Skills and Competencies
- Proven experience in indoor climbing instruction, with relevant certifications (e. g., Climbing Wall Instructor).
- Experience or knowledge in caving and high‑ropes activities is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to connect with and inspire participants of all ages.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and holidays.
