Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Complete the test and inspection of customer PCB products, using a range of automated test equipment and visual inspection.
- Production test and inspection of electronic assemblies, according to customer specifications and requirements of new and existing products, using AOI (Automatic Optical Inspection), FPT (Flying Probe Test), QUINS (Quality Inspection Systems) and X‑Ray equipment.
- Calibration and general maintenance of equipment used in the Inspection work area.
- Visual, Microscope and Camera Inspection.
- Investigation into customer returns on visual.
- Clear communication and feedback to SMT and soldering teams – highlighting areas of concern on their build.
- Ensure all work is completed to specified standards.
- Follow company procedures and work instructions at all times.
- Adhere to the Health and Safety requirements and regulations.
- Adhere to the Company IT and Data Policy.
- Comply with the cleaning/hygiene regulations at all times.
- Carry out any other reasonable request which is for the benefit of the business.
- Assist in the training of team members; ensuring best practice standards are maintained.
- Maintain training levels of latest revision IPC training.
Key Skills and Competencies
- Previous experience in a similar Inspection role, ideally within Production/Manufacturing.
- Previous visual inspection with use of microscopes.
- Educated to GCSE standard or equivalent.
- Team‑player.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
- Previous experience in PCB production, in an automated test environment.
- Previous knowledge of AOI (Automatic Optical Inspection), FPT (Flying Probe Test), QUINS (Quality Inspection Systems) and X‑Ray equipment.
- Further Education/Qualification in Electronics.
- The ability to fault‑find Electronics to component level.
