We are looking for a Warehouse Supervisor to join our thriving, family-owned independent garden centre. Store: Bourne Valley (Addlestone)

Department: Warehouse

Contract: Full time

Includes: Monday to Friday with a rota’d day off and alternate weekends

Key Responsibilities and Duties

• Managing, receiving, and controlling all inbound deliveries, ensuing all relevant paperwork is present.
• Managing the site to optimise available storage area for deliveries and goods.
• Retail management of various categories including Compost, Stone pots, garden ornaments, fencing & timber products, aggregates & hard landscaping materials Salt, fuels, and other bulk items.
• Helping customers with their enquiries, ensuring a high standard of customer service is delivered.
• Manages and develop the team through HR processes including job chats, probation reviews and training/development.
• Organise and support other employees and departmental colleagues as needed.
• Produce staff rotas ensuring the departments are always appropriately covered.
• Ensuring all areas within the warehouse department are health and safety compliant.
• Managing all customer deliveries out of the centre including delivery days, routes, picking orders and including some driving
• Managing regular store to store transfers
• Performing Warehouse Inventory controls and stock checks where required.
• Communicate clearly with and support all Trading depts across the store.
• Ensuring the maintenance of all machinery (such as forklifts), ensuring they are safe, in working condition and up to date with compliance and services.
• Potential of having open / close responsibilities

Key Skills and Competencies

• Able to delegate and resource tasks appropriately
• Good problem solver and solutions driven
• Ability to work under pressure, be self-motivated and adaptable
• Confident in use of machinery
• Forklift license is desirable, but not essential
• Excellent communication skills – you will be speaking regularly with various stakeholders, department leaders and external companies
• Ability to lead and develop team members within your department
