We are seeking an experienced Calibration Supervisor to join our client’s calibration laboratory near Basingstoke. This is a senior technical and supervisory role supporting the Calibration Manager and overseeing the day-to-day operation of the calibration lab. The role focuses on ensuring valid calibration procedures, traceability and high technical standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise the day-to-day operation of the accredited calibration lab
- Support and deputise for the Calibration Manager when required
- Ensure compliance
- Ensure all lab processes, procedures and standards are followed
- Oversee order workflow through the calibration lab to meet lead time targets
- Review, validate and release calibration results and reports
- Issue release for processors of accredited procedures
- Ensure the validity and accuracy of issued calibration certificates
- Maintain metrological traceability to national and international standards
- Support the development of calibration procedures
- Assist with extensions to scope and additional accreditations
- Manage reference equipment recalibration and release back into service
- Execute and document interim checks of reference standards
- Ensure correct environmental conditions are monitored and maintained
- Ensure standards and measuring equipment are functioning correctly and fit for purpose
- Carry out occasional on-site calibration when required
- Supervise, support and train calibration engineers and technicians
- Promote a quality culture and continuous improvement
What We’re Looking For:
- Proven experience in calibration
- Experience supervising or leading staff
- Confident in reviewing, approving and releasing calibration results and certificates
- Knowledge of calibration procedures, measurement uncertainty and traceability
- Familiarity with PAS, METCAL and laboratory management systems
- High attention to detail and strong commitment to quality
- Ability to support, guide and develop technical colleagues
