Are you a passionate and creative chef who loves cooking fresh, nutritious meals for children? We are looking for a dedicated Nursery Chef to join our friendly early years team in Southeast London.
About the Role: As our Nursery Chef, you will be responsible for planning and preparing healthy, balanced meals and snacks for children aged 0-5 years. You will work closely with the nursery team to accommodate dietary needs and ensure food safety and hygiene standards are met at all times.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare nutritious, child-friendly meals and snacks each day
- Plan weekly menus in line with dietary requirements and allergies
- Maintain high standards of kitchen hygiene and food safety (in line with Safer Food, Better Business)
- Manage stock, ordering, and kitchen budgets
- Support the nursery’s ethos of healthy eating and sustainability
About You:
- Experience working as a chef, cook, or kitchen manager (nursery, school, or similar setting desirable)
- Level 2 or higher Food Hygiene certificate
- Knowledge of food allergies and menu planning for young children
- Reliable, organised, and passionate about children’s health and wellbeing
Benefits:
- £28,000 per annum
- 40 hours per week (Monday - Friday)
- 30 days annual leave
