Cloud & Infrastructure Engineer
Location: Birmingham (Hybrid Working)
Salary: Up to £46,000
Contract: Full-time permanent role.
Nationwide Recruitment Service is looking for a proactive and technically skilled Cloud & Infrastructure Engineer to join our client's IT team.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting, maintaining and enhancing our IT infrastructure, cloud platforms and end-user environment.
You will help ensure our systems remain secure, reliable and available whilst supporting our transition from traditional on-premises services to a cloud-first operating model.
Working across a varied technology estate, you will collaborate with colleagues and third-party suppliers to deliver high-quality IT services, support business-critical systems and contribute to infrastructure improvement projects.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain, support and continually improve cloud and on-premise infrastructure.
Monitor system performance, availability and security across the IT estate.
Support Microsoft 365 and Azure cloud services.
Assist with infrastructure projects, upgrades and cloud migrations.
Manage and support servers, networks, storage and virtual environments.
Investigate and resolve infrastructure-related incidents and problems.
Implement security best practices and support vulnerability management activities.
Maintain technical documentation, procedures and system records.
Work with third-party suppliers and technology partners to deliver effective solutions.
Contribute to business continuity, backup and disaster recovery processes.
Provide technical support and guidance to colleagues across the organisation.
Skills & Experience
We are keen to hear from candidates who have experience in some of the following areas:
Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 administration.
Windows Server administration.
Active Directory and Entra ID (Azure AD).
Virtualisation technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V.
Networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP and firewalls.
Endpoint management tools such as Intune.
Backup, disaster recovery and business continuity solutions.
