Are you an experienced Materials Buyer who can keep production moving, suppliers on track and materials arriving on time? This is a hands-on purchasing role with a well-established global business that is performing well, offering great benefits and the chance to make a real impact from day one.

Important: please only apply if you have proven materials buying, materials purchasing, procurement buying or supply chain buying experience, within manufacturing, engineering, production or another materials-led environment.

You should already be confident raising purchase orders, chasing and expediting suppliers, using MRP/ERP information and following materials through to delivery in line with production requirements. You will take ownership of day-to-day materials purchasing activity, working closely with planning, production, suppliers and internal teams to protect material availability, support stock control and help keep customer delivery on track.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

  • Raising, updating and managing purchase orders accurately and on time.
  • Expediting suppliers, confirming delivery dates and resolving purchasing queries.
  • Using MRP/ERP information to support accurate and timely buying decisions.
  • Building strong supplier relationships and supporting supplier performance.
  • Helping ensure the right materials are available at the right time to support production.
  • Supporting cost, value and continuous improvement opportunities within purchasing.

WHAT YOU MUST HAVE

  • Proven experience in materials buying, materials purchasing, procurement buying or supply chain buying.
  • Experience gained within manufacturing, engineering, production or another materials-led environment.
  • Confidence using MRP/ERP systems to interpret demand, stock and purchasing requirements.
  • Strong supplier communication skills, including chasing, expediting and confirming delivery dates.
  • Good organisation, accuracy, follow-through and Microsoft Office skills.
