Job Purpose:
Support efficient packing and despatch of bearings by producing and maintaining packaging materials, operating printing equipment, ensuring accurate product labelling, and packing products in line with customer requirements, company procedures, and quality standards. The role plays a key part in ensuring products are correctly identified, protected, and prepared for on-time customer delivery. Please note: This role involves regular manual handling and heavy lifting of products, packaging materials and boxes. Candidates must be comfortable carrying out physical tasks throughout the working day.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out all packing activities in accordance with relevant work instructions, standard operating procedures, and quality requirements.
- Produce and print labels, envelopes, and packaging materials using departmental printing equipment.
- Ensure all bearings are correctly labelled and packaged in line with customer specifications and company requirements.
- Securely pack products to prevent damage during storage and transportation.
- Verify product documentation and packaging details before despatch.
- Operate and maintain printing equipment used within the packing department.
- Ensure printing machines are kept clean, operational, and supplied with the necessary consumables.
- Maintain adequate stock levels of packing materials, labels, envelopes, boxes, and printing supplies.
- Maintain a full understanding of packing instructions, quality requirements, and departmental procedures.
Knowledge:
- Previous packing, warehouse or manufacturing experience desirable but not essential.
- Understanding of quality and stock control processes desirable.
Skills:
- Computer literate
- Good attention to detail
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Good organisational and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
