Job Description:
The role of the Machine Operator is to operate and control machine and hand operations ensuring that objectives on cost, quality and timeliness are achieved. In this role, you will support the business in delivering to customers such as Rolls Royce, MBDA, Safran, NASA and Thales.
Key Responsibilities:
- To operate machinery and carry out hand operations as instructed by the Setter or Team Leader.
- To prepare and carry out work on product as instructed by the Setter or Team Leader in line with the relevant PSPI, ISPI and Working Practice Instruction.
- To make adjustment and changes to machinery and equipment as instructed by the Setter or Team Leader.
- To understand fully the gauging and measuring techniques being used and to carry out gauge checks with the master provided at the frequency stated in the ISPI.
- To work correctly to the Company's direct and indirect time reporting system.
- To maintain accurate, legible records using the appropriate recording system.
- To account for all components worked on machine or hand operations being controlled for each shift worked.
- To communicate with the Team Leader on all problems affecting the performance of the Value Stream.
- To be aware of and work at all times, to the Company Health and Safety Regulations ensuring that the work area is clean and free from hazards.
- To carry out any other related duties as required.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Some exposure to CNC Grinding process.
- Communication, verbal and written.
- Good English and Mathematics.
- Knowledge of bearing assembly processes desirable.
