Role Type: Full-time, Permanent

Take ownership of a high‑profile national retail account with huge growth potential. We’re looking for a driven, detail‑focused National Account Manager to lead one of our client’s most strategically important grocery retail partners. This is a fast‑paced, hands‑on role where high standards, commercial sharpness and brilliant customer management are essential. You’ll be at the heart of a division undergoing positive change — improving processes, strengthening cross‑functional alignment and unlocking major commercial opportunities.

The Role

  • Manage the daily commercial delivery of a complex, high‑volume retail account across a number of different categories.
  • Work closely with Procurement, Technical, NPD, Operations and Supply Chain to drive accuracy, tighten processes and deliver exceptional execution.
  • Influence category direction, recover lost opportunities, shape future ranges and bring robust challenge to both internal teams and your customer.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead day‑to‑day management of a major national retail account.
  • Build strong, assertive relationships and act as the customer’s key commercial contact.
  • Develop annual account plans with clear sales, margin and growth objectives.
  • Drive category reviews, identify growth gaps and recover previously lost lines.
  • Manage NPD briefs, range changes and full lifecycle delivery from concept to launch.
  • Oversee forecasting accuracy and maintain service levels.
  • Monitor competitor activity and translate insights into commercial action.
  • Strengthen cross‑functional collaboration and eliminate silo working.
  • Produce structured commercial reporting, highlighting performance, risks and opportunities.

About You

  • Experience with major UK retailers within FMCG, plants, produce, food, gifting or similar categories.
  • Commercially confident, assertive and calm under pressure.
  • Exceptional attention to detail — accuracy is non‑negotiable.
  • Highly organised and thrives in fast‑paced or reactive environments.
  • Strong relationship‑builder with excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Advanced Excel/PowerPoint skills and strong data fluency.
  • A collaborative, constructive challenger who drives accountability across teams.

What You’ll Get

  • Ownership of a high‑value national retail account.
  • A visible role in a division undergoing ambitious growth and structural improvement.
  • The chance to influence category direction and regain major sales opportunities.
  • A supportive culture built on collaboration, trust and resilience.
  • Excellent benefits, long‑term development and opportunities for international supplier travel.
