You will leverage your business acumen to lead HR programmes and processes for your business area. You will consult with leaders on all aspects of people leadership to ensure positive employee relations, supporting the needs of the business while at the same time ensuring the fair and equitable treatment of all employees. You will lead projects and will track project goals and tasks, report on progress, make recommendations and help with implementation. You will also ensure consistent and equitable application of organisational policies and procedures across a business area and execute on talent initiatives. You will act as a change agent to enable the growth & development of all employees.
The role:
- Be responsible for creating business unit wide people strategy, developing the implementation and rolling out.
- Coach and develop leaders in all areas of people leadership, including performance management and talent development, among others.
- Lead HR related projects and deployments and provide change management leadership where needed. Manage escalated employee complaints and grievances.
- Partner with COE teams to implement group wide programmes.
- Partner with our Talent Acquisition team to track and report on open positions and help manage the position requisition process for internal transfers to ensure accuracy of postings and facilitate internal movement.
- Apply analytical skills to collect and synthesise data, formulate recommendations based on data trends and insights, and influence where needed to gain support for business proposals.
- Develop and/or deploy various communication materials.
- Travel may be required where your role includes the support of multiple locations.
The person:
- Degree educated alongside an MSc in Human Resources, related field or professional experience equivalent.
- Progressive HR experience in HR roles within fast-paced and matrix organisations.
- Industry experience in FMCG, Hospitality, Retail, Business Services, Sales or Customer focused business.
- Must have experience of identifying a concept, creating strategy, delivering the programme through broader teams.
- Must have strong thinking skills and intellectual rigour.
- Proven ability to understand business goals and then design & implement new approaches, policies, programmes to affect continual improvements in business objectives, productivity and development of the HR function within the company.
- Proven bias for action as evidenced through proactive, innovative and value-creating solution implementation.
- Must be able to represent the brand on all levels.
- Proven ability to navigate ambiguity within a complex, dynamic and rapidly changing business environment.
- Proven ability to seamlessly transition between strategic thinking and tactical execution.
- Proven ability to prioritise the most impactful work amidst multiple competing priorities.
- Success in creating & driving effective and positive employee relations for large populations of employees.
- Success in leading and managing projects, some of which may be large-scale, cross-functional, and require strong stakeholder management and alignment.
- Ability to navigate ambiguity and manage issues without a set process or system.
- Proven ability to establish credibility, act with integrity, and be a trusted thought partner who builds relationships and delivers results.
- Experience balancing business partnering with employee advocacy.
- Ability to manage complex situations with independence, while collaborating effectively.
- Experience leading and managing large-scale projects.
- Project Management and detail orientation.
- HR consulting and coaching experience must have been working with business leaders to identify and solve significant people and cultural issues.
- Successful experience of enabling business change working with business leaders to drive proactive People and Culture Strategy in support of business objectives.
- Org Design/Change Management experience leading business partners through the end-to-end process of designing a new organisation or significantly changing an existing organisation; leveraging strategies and tools to help individuals and teams adapt to change in their organisation.
