Coach, lead, support and inspire the Logistics team, enabling all team members to achieve their key objectives, focusing on a desire to establish a high-performing culture Develop and implement strategic logistics plans to optimise transportation efficiency, reduce costs, and improve overall logistics performance, along with the capacity to facilitate future growth Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align logistics strategies with business objectives across the company Drive solutions pragmatically to react to changing market conditions Leads and directs maintenance activities of the fleet, equipment, and all systems, ensuring maximum utilisation with minimum downtime and restricting added costs Partners collaboratively with Sales, Marketing and Procurement to resolve any customer or delivery issues, visiting customers where necessary to promote stronger working relationships To own the budget for the entire logistics function, leading and directing all aspects of operational performance, adjusting activities to meet, or exceed, financial targets. Negotiate contracts with transportation service providers to ensure the right balance of cost and service delivery Collaborate with Operations & Procurement to have an in-depth knowledge of the Company’s inventory, helping to achieve optimum cashflow and customer service levels. Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure logistics performance Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to bring innovation to the logistics function Degree educated with business experience in Logistics, Operations Management, Supply Chain, or a related field Has demonstrated consistent career progression within a leading 3PL or FMCG organisation, with responsibility for the company’s ‘O’ Licence Proven track record in strategic planning, operational execution, and logistics management. Ability to adapt to changing business environments and implement innovative solutions to address logistics challenges Excellent analytical and project management skills, with the scope to manage numerous initiatives and projects simultaneously Proven track record of negotiating contracts and the managing of relationships with logistics service providers Proficiency in logistics software, management systems, data analytics tools, and ERP systems Key experience within Continuous Improvement with the ability to identify inefficiencies, implement improvements, and make data-driven decisions As the Logistics & Transport Director you will play a crucial role in creating, leading and optimising a best-in-class end-to-end distribution network for this blue-chip organisation.
