Job Family Definition: Responsible for providing technical pre‑sales consultancy in the creation and delivery of technology solutions designed to meet a customer’s business needs. Creates and maintains effective customer relationships and builds trusted advisor status within key customer accounts.
Management Level Definition: Contributions include applying developed subject matter expertise to solve common and sometimes complex technical problems and recommending alternatives where necessary. Might act as project lead and provide assistance to lower level professionals. Exercises independent judgment and consults with others to determine best method for accomplishing work and achieving objectives.

Within networking, the architectural synergies between our two AIOps platforms—HPE Aruba Networking Central and HPE Juniper Networking Mist—are especially invaluable. Both are built on a microservices framework with agentic AI that brings exceptional scale, agility, and resiliency to our offerings. This shared blueprint enables a develop once, deploy everywhere model for consistent innovation on both platforms, including cross-pollination of key features to deliver common self‑driving experiences for all customers and partners.
Responsibilities:
- Work with one or more assigned account managers to grow the enterprise networking business in a customer vertical, supporting the wider team as required.
- Develop knowledge across the HPE Networking portfolio, with subject matter expertise in at least one technology.
- Build, develop, and maintain trusted and professional relationships with customer technical stakeholders and partner community.
- Deliver compelling demos of HPE Networking solutions.
- Lead whiteboard discussions to understand & solve customer network and security challenges.
- Guide customers and partners through proof of concept activities that demonstrate the value of HPE Networking solutions.
- Capture new customer or industry requirements and trends and feed this into product management teams.
- Working independently, knowing when to elevate and leverage support from the wider team when required.
- Lead the technical responses for RFP/RFQ and build BoMs for relevant sales opportunities.
- Engage and influence customer technology strategies through showcasing HPE innovative technologies through technical sales presentations, whiteboarding sessions, customer technology events, product demonstrations and evaluations and proof of concepts.
- Continuously learn and stay ahead of the industry and competitive solutions, products, and services.
Education & Experience Required:
- Hands‑on experience working with two or more of the following technologies: Enterprise Wi‑Fi, Campus switching, Data centre switching, including EVPN‑VXLAN, WAN routing, including BGP and MPLS, Firewalls and IPsec VPNs, Network Access Control (NAC), SD‑WAN, Secure Services Edge (SSE) solutions.
- A relevant university degree is an advantage but is not necessary to be considered.
- 5+ years of pre‑sales experience in networking or security, although customer‑facing professional services experience will also be considered.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to discuss technical concepts to a variety of audiences.
- Ability to deliver technical sales presentations, white‑board technical design sessions, and conduct product demonstrations/seminars.
- Motivated by building business success through supporting our customers collaborating with our customers and partners to help them succeed.
- Proven technical capability, ability to learn quickly, and apply skills in new areas as well as being able to explain complex matters in a structured and easy to understand way.
