Galldris, a leading civil engineering company, are recruiting apprentices to join our rapidly expanding team across the Suffolk area. Quantity surveyors are responsible for managing all aspects of the contractual and financial side of construction projects. They help to ensure that the construction project is completed within its projected budget.
Occupational profile:The main duties and tasks of a Quantity Surveyor are:
- Assisting senior managers with the budgeting of construction projects
- Control of costs during a construction project
- Selection and management of specialist contractors
- To contribute to the mitigation of disputes using accurate records
- Recording, control and reporting of income and expenditure on a construction project
- Valuation of progress on construction projects
- To assist senior managers with the legal and contractual issues on a construction project
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Excellent literacy/numeracy skills
- Commitment to the business and future development in the role
- Self-disciplined with an ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
- Good IT skills
2 A levels/BTECs or equivalent, plus 4 GCSE's including Maths and English at A-C or Grade 4 and above.
Hours:Monday to Friday, 7.30 am-4.30 pm
