This job is brought to you by Jobs/Redefined, the UK's leading over-50s age inclusive jobs board. Ready to shape radiological safety standards that protect people, plants, and performance across the nuclear fleet? Do you want your expertise to influence decisions at the highest level and deliver consistent best practice where it matters most? At EDF, Success is Personal, and this role gives you a clear opportunity to see the impact of your expertise.
As Radiological Protection Fleet Manager, you'll play a critical role in supporting EDF's journey towards An Electric Britain, ensuring fleet-wide excellence in radiological protection and dangerous goods transport. You'll own policies, standards, and performance frameworks, working closely with senior leaders, regulators, and station teams to embed industry-leading practice across generation. This role is ideally based from Gloucester Business Park, with flexibility to be near another office across the fleet. You'll work a hybrid pattern, spending 2-3 days per week in a local office, with regular travel to nuclear sites to support delivery and continuous improvement.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Owning fleet radiological protection and dangerous goods transport policies aligned with regulatory and industry best practice
- Managing the corporate team of Radiation Protection Advisers and Dangerous Goods Safety Advisers
- Driving standardisation, performance monitoring, and continuous improvement across all nuclear stations
- Leading peer groups, setting KPIs, and reporting fleet performance to senior governance forums
- Developing and delivering fleet improvement plans, including budget and investment oversight
- Coaching, mentoring, and supporting station teams through assessments, evaluations, and benchmarking
Who You Are
We're looking for a Radiological Protection Fleet Manager who leads with authority, clarity, and integrity, and who thrives in a highly regulated nuclear environment. Do you offer deep operational expertise and the confidence to influence at fleet and executive level?
- A current Radiation Protection Adviser (RPA) Certificate of Competence would be an advantage
- A degree or HND in a relevant topic may be an advantage
- Significant experience in operational radiological protection, ideally within a nuclear power station environment
- Experience leading teams, peer groups, or governance programmes within a nuclear operator environment
- Strong knowledge of UK legislation, Site Licence Conditions, and radiological protection standards
- Demonstrated experience applying radiological safety principles within nuclear facilities
To be appointed to this role, you will need to meet the criteria for Security Clearance (SC), which will ordinarily require you to have British residency for the last five years.
Pay, Benefits and Culture
Alongside a competitive starting salary, potential for an annual bonus, and a market-leading pension scheme, your package will include customisable benefits such as electric vehicle leasing, discounted gym membership, life assurance, tech vouchers, experience days, and more.
Inclusion and Diversity
Everyone is welcome at EDF; we're committed to building a workforce that reflects gender balance, social mobility, and inclusion of minority ethnic backgrounds, LGBTQ+ communities, and those with disabilities. As a Disability Confident employer, we will support applicants requiring adjustments.
