Company Description: Sizewell C (SZC) is one of the UK’s largest new nuclear megaprojects, set to generate low‑carbon electricity for at least 60 years and support the country’s Net Zero ambitions.
Location: London or Bristol, minimum 3 days per week with travel to Europe.
Salary: £65,000 – £85,000, dependent on experience.

Overview: We are looking for a Project Manager to drive the delivery of nuclear island auxiliary equipment packages within the Sizewell C nuclear build. The role will shape plant designs, finalise construction strategies and collaborate with a global supply chain to secure key consents and licences.
Responsibilities:
- Lead a multidisciplinary team to deliver design, procurement, manufacturing, installation and commissioning of nuclear island auxiliary equipment.
- Manage technically complex ancillary equipment and systems (pumps, heat exchangers, valves, filters, tanks, pipework and instrumentation) against nuclear safety, quality, cost and schedule requirements.
- Contract and interface management across Europe, coordinating technical, commercial and schedule interfaces with other Nuclear Island, MEH and Conventional Island teams.
- Support governance, risk, and change control activities.
- Travel internationally, with quarterly visits to a French supplier to build relationships and oversee progress.
Who You Are: Proactive project professional with strong experience in strategic project management and major project delivery, ideally involving rotating equipment, valves and power plants. Technical confidence to translate complex engineering concepts, with proven expertise in design delivery, contract execution, cost management and risk control. Familiarity with Earned Value tools and managing commercial claims. Opportunity to progress into senior leadership within Sizewell C or other major delivery programmes.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Proven ability to coordinate multidisciplinary design and procurement teams and meet delivery milestones.
- Background in mechanical, electrical, process, systems or civil engineering – preferably in large industrial plant environments.
- Strong understanding of major project complexities, including cross‑functional interface management.
- Significant experience leading pre‑tender and tender activities for industrial equipment design, manufacturing and installation.
- Excellent communication skills, able to engage effectively with clients and contractors.
Desirable:
- Experience in the nuclear sector or hiring equipment/installation contracts for nuclear power stations.
- French professional knowledge.
Qualifications: Applicants must be UK residents for at least 3 of the last 5 years and will need to meet Security Vetting criteria.
