The opportunity: Put your skills and dedication to good use and help us build the next generation of EPR/EPR2 nuclear power plants in Europe, starting with Hinkley Point C in Somerset, England, followed by a progression of your career at one of our EPR2 projects in France, such as Penly, Bugey, or Gravelines. This is your chance to be part of a significant program shaping the future of the French energy market and nuclear sector.
You will initially join EDF Energy UK to spend a few years at the HPC site in the south-west of England. Following this, you will move to EDF SA in France and join the team responsible for delivering the planned EPR2 projects across the country. Both experiences will give you an opportunity to oversee activities within your area of expertise and make sure project objectives are met to the highest standards.

What you will be doing: As an Area Project Manager within the N2 Sub Area works, you will play a pivotal role in delivering the Safeguard and Access Buildings on the Nuclear Island at Hinkley Point C. These assets are essential to the safe operation, maintenance and protection of the nuclear plant, demanding rigorous standards of safety, quality and integration. You'll work closely with the Area Delivery Manager and project teams, helping deliver a nationally significant programme on EDF's journey towards An Electric Britain. This role offers exposure to large-scale nuclear construction within a regulated environment. You'll strengthen your leadership capability, develop expertise in planning and risk management, and contribute to a lessons‑learned culture.
- Supporting the Area Delivery Manager in developing and delivering plans aligned to the Programme Execution Plan
- Coordinating engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning activities within your area
- Monitoring progress against milestones and producing reports for key stakeholders
- Identifying, managing and escalating safety, cost, schedule and technical risks
- Building effective relationships across site teams, contractors and delivery partners
Who you are: We're looking for an Area Project Manager who can operate confidently in complex, regulated programmes and support multidisciplinary teams to deliver safely, to time and to budget.
Are you experienced in:
- Delivering scope on large, complex engineering or construction projects
- Working within CDM Regulations and regulated environments
- Planning, estimating, scheduling, risk management and earned value management
- Managing interfaces, risks and technical challenges
- Engaging and influencing multi-level stakeholders
- Applying design, contract and field execution strategies on EPCM projects
- Working with NEC and or FIDIC forms of contract
- Background in engineering, ideally mechanical or electrical
