We are flexible on location with a mix of remote working and also on site at London/Edinburgh/Durham offices. As Principal Engineering Manager - Electrical & Operational Technology, you'll lead specialist engineering teams that support renewable projects across their full lifecycle. Your direction will influence safety, quality, capability and technical standards as we grow our renewable portfolio in a competitive, fast-moving market.
Alongside a competitive salary and potential for an annual bonus, this role offers flexible working. You can be based from our offices in London, Edinburgh or Durham, combined with remote working. You'll travel occasionally for meetings or to visit sites in the UK and overseas.
You'll work closely with senior leaders and delivery teams, acting as a technical conscience for the business. From strategic planning to governance and capability building, your expertise will help keep engineering excellence central to everything we do.
Who You Are
We're looking for a Principal Engineering Manager - Electrical and Operational Technology who is credible, decisive and comfortable leading in a complex regulatory and commercial environment. You'll bring strong judgement, technical authority and a passion for safe, high-quality delivery. To be shortlisted, you need to offer:
- Experience in an engineering leadership role within a relevant industry context
- A background in electrical engineering or operational technology, supported by a relevant engineering degree
- Strong knowledge of industry frameworks, including commercial, regulatory and political considerations
- A proven track record leading teams, delivering programmes and influencing senior stakeholders
- The flexibility to travel in the UK and overseas, with a full UK driving licence
What You'll Be Doing
- Leading, setting the strategy and developing high-performing electrical engineering and operational technology teams
- Setting and maintaining engineering standards and governance across the business
- Providing technical leadership across the full asset lifecycle, from development to operations
- Acting as a focal point for complex technical decision-making and risk management
- Building strong relationships with internal teams, partners and external stakeholders
