About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Construction Manager to lead the delivery of a major EHV underground cabling project in Teesside. This is a key leadership role responsible for managing site operations, subcontractors, and direct labour to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality project execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day site operations for EHV cable installation works
  • Manage cable pulling subcontractors and jointing teams
  • Supervise site teams and direct labour, ensuring productivity and compliance
  • Report progress, issues, and performance to senior project leadership
  • Ensure all works are delivered in line with programme, safety, and quality standards
  • Produce and manage essential project documentation, including:
    • Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs)
    • Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS)
    • Construction plans and related documentation
  • Maintain strict adherence to HSE regulations and best practices

Required Experience & Skills

  • Proven experience as a Construction Manager within high-voltage infrastructure projects
  • Strong background in EHV underground cabling (400kV and 275kV)
  • Demonstrated experience managing:
    • Cable pulling subcontractors
    • Cable jointing teams
  • Solid understanding of construction documentation and processes (ITPs, RAMS, etc.)
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills
  • Ability to manage site teams effectively and drive performance

Working Arrangements

  • Pre-mobilisation: Remote working available
  • From June/July 2026: Full-time site-based role in Teesside
  • Working Hours: Monday to Friday
