We are currently recruiting for an experienced Security Technical Engineer to join Avanza Intelligent Security, a well-established, privately owned security systems specialist with over 25 years’ industry experience. Avanza design, install, maintain, and support high-end CCTV, Access Control, and Intruder Alarm systems for prestigious commercial clients.

This is a full-time, field-based role focused on advanced technical support, commissioning, system configuration, and planned preventative maintenance across high-profile commercial environments.

Package & Benefits

  • Salary £44,000 – £48,000 basic per annum
  • OTE £58,000+
  • 30 days annual leave (including bank holidays)
  • Private healthcare (after 6-month probation)

  • Door-to-door travel paid (minus 1 hour)
  • On-call rota: 1 in 8
  • Monday to Friday, 8am–5pm (40 hours per week, 1 hour lunch)

Role & Responsibilities

  • Commissioning, testing, and handover of advanced security systems
  • Providing technical support both remotely and on-site
  • Pre-builds, system configuration, and server setup
  • Fault finding, diagnostics, callouts, and system repairs
  • Software, firmware, and server-based planned preventative maintenance (PPM)
  • System takeovers, upgrades, and improvements
  • Delivering user training and ongoing client support
  • Working across commercial sectors including financial services, high-end retail, luxury hospitality, and education
  • Primarily within the M25, with occasional travel to surrounding counties, the UK, and Europe

Skills & Experience Required

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience within the electronic security industry
  • Strong knowledge of Access Control systems: Gallagher, Avigilon, Paxton, Maxxess
  • Strong knowledge of IP CCTV systems: Avigilon, Milestone, Hanwha, IDIS
  • High-level technical knowledge of IP networks and servers
  • Proven experience in commissioning, fault finding, and technical support
  • Excellent communication and customer-facing skills
  • Full UK driving licence
