We are currently recruiting for an experienced Fire Extinguisher Engineer to join a well-established and growing fire and life safety company covering Newcastle & surrounding areas. Due to continued expansion and increased customer demand, our client is looking to add a skilled engineer to their permanent engineering team.

This is a full-time, permanent role offering a competitive basic salary, commission structure, overtime, a company vehicle, and ongoing training across fire safety systems including fire alarms.

Role & Responsibilities
  • Servicing, maintenance, and installation of fire extinguishers
  • Carrying out inspections in line with BS 5306 standards
  • Conducting basic fire safety equipment checks (e.g. fire blankets, signage, emergency lighting – where trained)
  • Identifying faults and recommending remedial works
  • Supporting and developing knowledge of fire alarm systems (training provided)
  • Ensuring compliance with current fire safety regulations
  • Maintaining accurate service records and documentation
  • Providing excellent customer service on client sites
  • Covering commercial and industrial properties across the region
Skills & Experience Required
  • Full UK driving licence (essential)
  • Previous experience as a Fire Extinguisher Engineer or within fire safety servicing
  • Knowledge of BS 5306 standards (desirable)
  • FETA or BAFE certification (highly desirable but not essential)
  • Interest in developing into fire alarm systems (training provided)
  • Experience working in a field-based role
  • Good communication and customer-facing skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
  • Willingness to undertake additional training
