We are currently recruiting for an experienced Vehicle Technician / Mechanic with strong capability in engine work and heavy mechanical repairs to join a busy and well-established automotive workshop in Abercynon. This is a great opportunity for a skilled technician who is confident working on complex mechanical faults and full vehicle repairs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out engine repairs, rebuilds, diagnostics, and overhauls
- Complete timing belts, cambelts, head gaskets, clutches, and gearbox work
- Perform vehicle servicing, maintenance, and mechanical repairs
- Diagnose and repair faults across engines, driveline, steering, and suspension systems
- Use diagnostic equipment to identify and resolve mechanical and electrical faults
- Ensure all work is completed to manufacturer and safety standards
- Support workshop efficiency by working to time and quality targets
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Vehicle Technician / Mechanic / Automotive Technician
- Strong background in engine diagnostics, repairs, and heavy mechanical work
- Experience with timing belts, clutches, gearboxes, and major components
- Ability to use diagnostic tools and interpret fault codes
- Background in garage, dealership, fleet, or commercial workshop environments
- Full UK Driving Licence
Desirable Skills:
- Level 3 NVQ in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair or equivalent
