Key Responsibilities:
- Producing accurate and competitive cost estimates for mechanical systems including HVAC and plumbing.
- Reviewing project specifications, drawings, and relevant documents to ensure precise costings.
- Preparing and submitting tenders in line with client requirements and deadlines.
- Sourcing and assessing quotes from suppliers and subcontractors.
- Working closely with project managers and engineers to ensure estimates align with technical requirements.
- Carrying out risk assessments and identifying value engineering options.
- Keeping up to date with current market rates, material costs, and labour trends.
- Maintaining clear and organised records of all estimating activities.
What We’re Looking For:
- A minimum of 3 years experience in mechanical estimating within the construction or building services industry.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems and the ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
- Proficient in estimating software and Microsoft Office programmes.
- Clear and confident communicator - both written and verbal.
- A self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management or a related subject is preferred, but not essential.
