My client is seeking an experienced HSE Manager to join a large engineering project on the Heathrow Estate. Paying between £385 – 400 + 18 months work + Weekly Payments.
The purpose of the HSE Manager is to advise, guide and manage site functions on all aspects of health, safety, environmental issues, as well as ensuring good relations with the client. You will need to ensure that the site operates safely and effectively in line with current policies and procedures and to ensure the ongoing effectiveness and suitability of these management systems.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Conduct HSE site audits to ensure the company is up to date and in line with current legislations and contractual obligations.
- Take a lead in identifying any risks or noncompliance and develop actions to minimise these risks.
- Review, update and implement policies and processes.
- Deliver a training programme, induction policies for new starters.
- Provide support to operations with expert advice to enable them to prepare Method Statements and Risk Assessments.
- Contribute to continual improvement.
- Conduct audits on a regular basis.
- Ensure operations are compliant with site and staff audits as per monthly targets.
- Maintain the management system and ensure actions are followed up with the relevant manager.
- Take part in conducting sub-contractor audits and questionnaires on an annual basis.
- Help manage/advise the business training matrix including evaluating business training needs, coordinating training, planning refresher training.
- Record and investigate incidents, accidents and near misses.
- Work alongside the relevant manager with actions and improvements, including following up any safety observations with staff.
- Develop personal competence and liaise with external bodies and organisations to keep up to date with best practice.
- Attend client meetings and represent the company in a HSE management capacity.
Essential Competencies:
- NEBOSH General or Construction Cert minimum.
- A minimum of 4 years’ experience in a similar working environment.
- Ability to work on own initiative.
- Good PC computer literacy.
- Excellent presentation skills.
- High personal standard showing drive and efficiency.
The salary will be dependent on the individual’s level of experience and is not set in stone. Paying between £350 – 400 + 18 month’s work + Weekly Payments.
