We are seeking an experienced Emergency Lighting Electrician to join our team on a short-term contract for a period of one month. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, inspection, testing, fault-finding, and certification of emergency lighting systems, ensuring full compliance with current regulations and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Installation, maintenance, and replacement of emergency lighting systems
  • Carrying out emergency lighting inspections and testing in line with BS 5266
  • Fault finding and rectification of emergency lighting issues
  • Completion of test reports, certificates, and compliance documentation
  • Ensuring all work is carried out safely and in accordance with Health & Safety regulations
  • Working independently or as part of a wider electrical or facilities team
  • Liaising with site managers and clients to minimise disruption during works

Essential Requirements

  • Fully qualified electrician (e.g. NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent)
  • Proven experience working specifically with emergency lighting systems
  • Strong knowledge of BS 5266 and relevant electrical regulations
  • Valid 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671)
  • Ability to interpret drawings and specifications
  • Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills
  • Good communication and record-keeping abilities

Desirable

  • 2391 Inspection & Testing or equivalent
  • ECS / CSCS card
  • Experience working in commercial or industrial environments
  • Own tools and PPE
