We are seeking an experienced Emergency Lighting Electrician to join our team on a short-term contract for a period of one month. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, inspection, testing, fault-finding, and certification of emergency lighting systems, ensuring full compliance with current regulations and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Installation, maintenance, and replacement of emergency lighting systems
- Carrying out emergency lighting inspections and testing in line with BS 5266
- Fault finding and rectification of emergency lighting issues
- Completion of test reports, certificates, and compliance documentation
- Ensuring all work is carried out safely and in accordance with Health & Safety regulations
- Working independently or as part of a wider electrical or facilities team
- Liaising with site managers and clients to minimise disruption during works
Essential Requirements
- Fully qualified electrician (e.g. NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent)
- Proven experience working specifically with emergency lighting systems
- Strong knowledge of BS 5266 and relevant electrical regulations
- Valid 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671)
- Ability to interpret drawings and specifications
- Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills
- Good communication and record-keeping abilities
Desirable
- 2391 Inspection & Testing or equivalent
- ECS / CSCS card
- Experience working in commercial or industrial environments
- Own tools and PPE
