We are seeking a skilled and motivated Electrical Testing Engineer to carry out Fixed Wiring Testing (EICR) across a range of properties, including domestic and commercial buildings, with a focus on social housing and local authority properties.
The role involves completing high-quality electrical testing, inspections, and remedial works to ensure compliance with current regulations. You’ll be responsible for producing accurate electronic certification using EasyCert or similar software, along with completing job notes, photos, and reports in a timely manner.
All test equipment, materials, and a company vehicle will be provided. A practical assessment may be required prior to placement.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct EICRs and carry out any necessary remedial works in line with client specifications.
- Identify, report, and rectify electrical faults safely and efficiently.
- Follow all current Health & Safety regulations and relevant electrical standards.
- Complete all electronic paperwork accurately and promptly using approved mobile applications.
- Communicate effectively with residents, clients, and team members.
- Deliver excellent customer service and maintain a professional manner at all times.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures.
- Participate in ongoing training and development as required.
- Support business improvements and changes that enhance service delivery.
- Undertake additional duties as reasonably requested by management.
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong knowledge of the electrical industry, particularly testing and inspection procedures.
- Proven experience in electrical certification and fault-finding diagnostics.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Accurate and detailed reporting of work carried out and any additional works required.
- Experience using mobile devices for job documentation and certification.
- Excellent practical ability and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Positive attitude, reliability, and strong time management.
Qualifications
- City & Guilds Level 3 Electrotechnical Qualification (or equivalent) – Mandatory
- City & Guilds 2391-51 (or equivalent) – Mandatory
- City & Guilds 2382-18 (BS7671 18th Edition Update) – Desirable
- Asbestos Awareness – Desirable (training can be provided)
- Full UK Driving Licence – held for a minimum of 12 months
