We are currently recruiting for a Trainee Emergency Lighting Engineer to join a well-established and growing fire and security company covering Gloucester and surrounding areas. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career within the fire and life safety industry, with full training and ongoing development provided.
The successful candidate will work alongside experienced engineers, gaining hands-on experience in the installation, testing, servicing, and maintenance of emergency lighting systems across commercial and industrial sites.

Role & Responsibilities
- Assisting with the installation, servicing, and maintenance of emergency lighting systems
- Carrying out routine testing and inspections in line with industry standards
- Supporting senior engineers on commercial and industrial projects
- Learning fault-finding techniques and basic system diagnostics
- Completing service reports and job documentation accurately
- Ensuring all works are completed safely and to a high standard
- Travelling to customer sites across Gloucester and surrounding areas
- Maintaining strong communication with customers and internal teams
Skills & Experience Required
- Full UK driving licence (essential)
- Strong willingness to learn and develop within the industry
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Basic electrical knowledge or experience (desirable but not essential)
- Previous experience within engineering, electrical, construction, or maintenance environments (advantageous)
- Positive attitude with strong work ethic
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- ECS/CSCS card (desirable)
Desirable
- Previous exposure to emergency lighting or fire safety systems
- Electrical qualifications or training
- IPAF or PASMA certification
- Experience working on commercial sites
