We have an exciting opportunity to join the HP Security Lab. The role will be focused on AI security in edge architectures, combining knowledge of ML and system security to robustly protect models and data on client devices. You will be contributing to HP’s security research, providing analysis of use cases and threats as well as security designs and prototypes, helping inform the design of future products and services. You will be working closely with other AI security researchers, and with security technologists across HP. The ideal candidate would have a solid background in machine learning, experience of computer security preferably system security, with a good technical understanding of system software. This position requires a strong engineer who can influence and communicate effectively. This will be a fixed term research engineering contract position, initially for up to 18 months.

Responsibilities

  • Developing new security designs, architectures and use cases
  • Building prototypes to de-risk and show feasibility of ideas
  • Documenting use cases and architecture in writing
  • Validating use case value proposition with end-users and business partners
  • Working in a fast-paced environment that iterates and evolves rapidly

Job Requirements

  • Experience in or knowledge of machine learning solution architectures
  • Experience in or knowledge of machine learning security risks
  • Strong ML and software engineering skills
  • Experience in or knowledge of computer security
  • An ability to convey technical knowledge to both technical experts and non-technical teams alike

Nice-to-have skills

  • Knowledge of hardware, firmware and system software architectures
  • Knowledge of operating system and hypervisor technologies
  • Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent
