Starting Pay: $27.97 + 7% night shift differential. Pay increases at 6 & 12 months!
Essential Functions:
- Serve as a subject matter expert in ingredient weigh-out processes.
- Monitor, verify, break down, and assemble batch kits.
- Print batch tickets based on the production schedule and coordinate weigh-out priorities.
- Verify ingredients for proper expiration, weights, and item codes; create identification tags for partial bags.
- Ensure ingredients on skids match COAs and Lot numbers received.
- Verify correct flavors and amounts used in batches.
- Read and use Seiberling to identify fillers and batches in progress.
- Verify that finished batch skids match batch tickets.
- Complete daily scale checks.
- Fill out Raw Material Rejection forms for rejected ingredients.
- Ensure tote paperwork is correctly filled out; rework products as necessary.
- Weigh vitamins and record usage logs.
- Verify sanitation standards of plant equipment before startup.
- Support sanitation program implementation and development.
- Lead the weigh-out technician, coordinating daily batch weighing tasks.
- Accurately complete end-of-shift documentation.
- Coordinate ingredient needs with the warehouse and return unneeded ingredients.
- Communicate with the warehouse for ingredient procurement.
- Assist in planning shuttles based on production needs.
- Identify and communicate deviations in ingredients to processing techs.
- Act as a liaison between quality and production, reporting to the quality team and processing coordinator.
- Maintain communication with team members to ensure timely, accurate batching.
- Collect and run samples for testing; acceptability of incoming raw materials.
- Perform tasks related to food safety and product quality as directed.
Education and Experience:
- BS/BA in a related science field and/or 5+ yearsβ experience in food manufacturing batching and formulations.
- Prior experience in food manufacturing, especially dairy.
- Knowledge of food microbiology, chemistry, and manufacturing standards.
- Intermediate computer skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask and work independently.
Physical Requirements:
- Standing for long periods (minimum 8+ hours).
- Sitting occasionally for short periods.
- Walking for extended periods.
- Frequent bending.
- Heavy lifting (50+ lbs.) frequently.
- Carrying heavy loads (40-60 lbs.) frequently.
- Pushing/Pulling under 75 lbs. without assistance frequently.
