We are seeking a talented Quantitative Developer to join our client at a leading systematic multi‑strategy hedge fund. This individual will work closely with quantitative researchers, data scientists, and portfolio managers to develop, optimize, and deploy cutting‑edge algorithmic trading strategies. The ideal candidate will have strong programming skills, a solid understanding of financial markets, and a passion for problem‑solving in a high‑performance, fast‑paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Algorithm Development & Optimization: Collaborate with quantitative researchers to translate trading strategies into efficient, scalable, and low‑latency code. Continuously optimize the execution and performance of the trading algorithms across different asset classes. Design and implement scalable, maintainable systems for backtesting, real‑time data processing, and execution. Ensure the robustness and efficiency of these systems in a production environment.
- Data Integration & Management: Develop and maintain systems for acquiring, cleaning, and storing large datasets (e.g., market data, financial statements, alternative data sources). Work with data scientists to ensure the seamless integration of data into trading models.
- Risk Management and Compliance: Ensure the implementation of risk management protocols, including monitoring and reporting. Collaborate with the risk team to ensure compliance with the fund’s risk limits and regulatory requirements. Work closely with quantitative researchers, portfolio managers, and other developers to understand strategy requirements, communicate technical challenges, and ensure the smooth deployment of models into live trading.
- Performance Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Monitor and troubleshoot trading systems in real‑time, resolving issues related to latency, system failures, and other disruptions. Provide on‑call support for live trading operations.
- Research & Development: Stay up‑to‑date with the latest advancements in quantitative finance, machine learning, and financial technologies. Contribute to the development of new tools and libraries that enhance the trading platform.
Key Skills & Qualifications
- Programming Skills: Proficiency in Python, C++, Java, or similar programming languages. Strong experience in software development for financial markets, with an emphasis on low‑latency, high‑performance systems.
- Quantitative Finance Expertise: Understanding of financial instruments, trading strategies (including systematic, statistical arbitrage, and machine learning), and risk management principles.
- Experience in System Design: Proven track record of building high‑performance, scalable systems for financial applications, with experience in distributed computing, parallel processing, and cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, etc.).
- Mathematics & Statistics: Strong foundation in probability, statistics, linear algebra, and optimization methods. Familiarity with financial modeling techniques such as time series analysis, stochastic calculus, and Monte Carlo simulations.
- Data Management: Expertise in handling large‑scale, unstructured datasets. Experience with databases (SQL, NoSQL), data pipelines, and data storage solutions. Knowledge of big data technologies (Hadoop, Spark) is a plus.
- Understanding of Trading Infrastructure: Familiarity with order execution protocols, FIX protocol, market connectivity, and real‑time trading infrastructure. Knowledge of latency‑sensitive systems and optimization is highly desirable.
- Problem‑Solving & Critical Thinking: Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to think creatively in fast‑paced environments. Ability to identify and fix bugs, optimize code, and scale systems under tight time constraints.
Educational Background: Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Physics, Financial Engineering, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in hedge funds, proprietary trading firms, or financial technology companies.
- Familiarity with machine learning algorithms and their application to financial markets.
- Experience with low‑latency trading systems, high‑frequency trading (HFT), or market‑making strategies.
- Exposure to cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Knowledge of multi‑strategy hedge fund models and portfolio optimization.
