H&P is supporting a fast-scaling, private-equity-backed industrial services group seeking a Group FP&A Manager – Investor Reporting & Performance Reporting to join its central finance function at a pivotal stage of growth. This is the perfect role for someone coming straight from practice in Transaction Services into their first role in industry. With continued M&A activity underway and a clear trajectory toward becoming a £100m+ EBITDA platform, the business is preparing for its next phase of value creation under PE ownership. The role will play a critical part in supporting the FY26 forecasting cycle (March–April) and ongoing investor reporting requirements.
The Role: Reporting into the Director of Reporting & Strategic Finance, this role sits at the centre of Group FP&A, investor reporting, and performance analysis. The position acts as the analytical bridge between Subsidiary Company Finance Directors and the Group, translating operational performance into clear, PE-grade reporting outputs. All core deliverables feed directly into the Group's private equity owner. This requires a highly analytical finance professional who is confident challenging senior stakeholders and presenting complex financial information clearly and credibly.
Key Responsibilities:
- Group FP&A & Performance Analysis: Review, interrogate, and challenge OpCo business plans, forecasts, and assumptions. Deliver detailed margin analysis, performance bridges, and variance commentary across the Group. Build and maintain 3-statement P&L views, waterfalls, and value-creation analysis. Act as the central point of consolidation for Group-level performance insight.
- Investor & PE-Style Reporting: Produce high-quality investor reporting packs in a PE-style format. Deliver clear, concise, and well-structured written and visual outputs for senior stakeholders. Ensure consistency, accuracy, and comparability of reporting across operating companies. Support ongoing performance tracking against investment thesis and value-creation plans.
- Forecasting & Planning: Support Group-wide forecasting cycles, with particular focus on FY26 planning (March–April). Challenge assumptions and ensure alignment between operational plans and financial outcomes. Assist in refining forecasting processes and analytical frameworks.
- Stakeholder Management: Work closely with Finance Directors across operating companies, providing robust analytical challenge. Act as a trusted analytical counterpart to senior finance leaders at OpCo and Group level. Interface with PE investors via reporting outputs.
Candidate Profile: Must-Haves
- Exceptionally strong, data-centric analyst with high attention to detail.
- Excellent presentation and written reporting skills; comfortable producing Board- and investor-ready materials.
- Strong financial modelling capability, including P&Ls, bridges, waterfalls, and performance analysis.
- Sell-side or investor reporting experience.
- Confident challenging senior Finance Directors on numbers, assumptions, and performance.
- Currently in practice in Transaction Services, looking to move to your first industry role.
