H&P is working with a fast-scaling, private-equity-backed industrial services group seeking a Finance Business Partner to sit at the heart of its Group Executive team. The business operates at multinational scale and continues to grow through both organic performance and acquisition. As complexity increases, there is a clear need for a Group Executive level Finance Business Partner to support Executive Directors with cost visibility, performance insight, and decision support across the Group’s overhead base.

This role is not transactional cost control. Instead, it sits between management accounts and Board-level discussions, providing commercial challenge, structured analysis, and forward-looking insight to senior leaders.

The Role: This position sits alongside the Group Executive team, acting as the primary FP&A interface for 5–6 Executive Directors and senior leaders. The focus is on overheads, cost performance, and executive-level business partnering across a large, complex organisation. The role supports decision-making through business cases, rolling forecasts, and Board-ready materials, while maintaining a strong understanding of cost drivers and performance trends. The role is particularly well-suited to an FP&A professional who has operated in a £500m–£1bn+ turnover business, where cost bases are large, multifaceted, and require a balance of control and strategic insight.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the dedicated FP&A partner to 5–6 Executive Directors and senior leaders
  • Support executives with business cases, cost analysis, and materials for Board-level discussions
  • Translate management accounts into clear, decision-useful insight for senior stakeholders
  • Provide commercial challenge and guidance, rather than transactional cost policing
  • Own FP&A support for Group overheads and cost centres across a multinational footprint
  • Deliver detailed cost performance analysis, trend analysis, and rolling forecasts
  • Support executives in understanding cost drivers, trade-offs, and efficiency opportunities
  • Ensure cost plans align with broader Group strategy and operational priorities

IT, Capex & Functional Cost Bases:

  • Act as FP&A partner to IT and technology leadership, including key support to the CTO
  • Develop a strong understanding of: IT cost structures, Capex spend, Cloud-based software and systems costs
  • Support investment decisions and prioritisation across technology and digital spend
  • Partner with Marketing leadership on cost visibility and performance tracking

Planning, Forecasting & Board Support:

  • Support rolling forecast cycles for overheads and functional spend
  • Contribute to Board-level materials, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and narrative coherence
  • Provide scenario analysis and forward-looking insight to support executive decision-making

Candidate Profile:

  • FP&A experience within a £500m–£1bn+ turnover organisation
  • Strong background in cost-centre and overhead FP&A
  • Confident business partnering with senior executives and directors
  • Solid experience supporting IT cost bases, including capex and cloud-based software spend
  • Qualified accountant with several years post-qualification experience
  • Comfortable operating between management accounts and executive-level discussions
  • Previous exposure to partnering CTO, COO, or central Group functions
