Howrecruit has been retained by one of the startup world's best-kept secrets. They are a profitable, fast-growing home services platform on a mission to make quality and affordable home cleaning accessible to everyone, while providing cleaning professionals with a stable and rewarding career. We are working in collaboration with the VP of Engineering to help them find a Senior Python/Platform Engineer to join their small, high-performing engineering team.
About the Role
They are seeking a pragmatic and experienced engineer to evolve their backend infrastructure, ensure the scalability and reliability of their systems, and improve developer productivity. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex backend problems, architecting reliable systems, and enabling product engineers to ship products faster.
What You'll Do
- Own and improve core infrastructure and platform services
- Maintain and evolve backend systems (Python, Postgres, Redis, Docker, Kubernetes)
- Build tooling and automation to support fast and safe deployments
- Improve observability and incident response systems
- Work closely with product engineers to improve the developer experience
- Help shape engineering best practices and tech direction
What We’re Looking For
- Strong experience with backend systems, ideally with Python
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Terraform, Pulumi)
- Solid understanding of PostgreSQL, Redis, containerization, and CI/CD
- Experience owning deployments and monitoring in a production environment
- A collaborative approach and strong communication skills
- Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced, remote environment
