Utilising our expertise in air engineering to deliver controlled clean environments for healthcare and pharmaceutical, and it’s our people that make us unique. Due to our continued growth, we have a vacancy for an EC&I Design Engineer within our Pharma Team.

The Role: To take the lead in the design and development of the Pharma and Bio product range, in particular the development of processes and the electrical controls and instrument requirements; providing technical support to other areas of the business as required.

Responsibilities include but aren’t limited to:

  • Challenge established ways of doing things by proactively developing innovations for products across the range; looking to develop USPs.
  • Deliver a design to cost and time constraints.
  • Standardisation of design – developing a modular framework for the entire product range.
  • Play a key role in value engineering of EC&I to increase margins.
  • Contribute to tender/estimate preparation by passing on design and technical knowledge to the sales team.
  • Set Technicians and Field Engineers up for success by passing on relevant technical expertise.
  • Review and streamline processes aiming to increase efficiency and reduce cost without loss of quality and functionality.
  • Able to write FDS, P&ID’s, and input into FAT & SAT protocols.

Qualifications & Preferred Experience:

  • Have a minimum educational OND in Electrical Engineering.
  • Have a proven track record in EC&I product and process design.
  • Knowledge of Pharmaceutical processes and containment requirements is advantageous.
  • To be fully conversant with the latest engineering design concepts, engineering standards and disciplines, including hazardous area compliance (ATEX and UL Directives).
  • Understand Health and Safety legislation related to design, incorporating risk assessments.
  • Fully experienced/trained in AutoCAD for the production of electrical schematics and process drawings or similar packages.
