Essential Functions
To support the Secondary Operations Supervisor in supervising team members to ensure that production targets are met in a safe and compliant manner.
Specific Responsibilities
- Team Supervision
- Assign tasks and monitor performance
- Train new employees and support skill development
- Effectively manage any conduct or performance issues with the support of the Supervisor and/or Departmental Manager.
- Production Management
- Ensure production schedules and targets are achieved working with ATD & TOC
- Monitor workflow and adjust staffing or processes as needed
- Appropriately escalate any machine breakdowns or production issues
- Operate machinery as required
- Quality
- Ensure quality procedures are understood and being adhered to
- Work with quality teams to address defects or improvements
- Health & Safety
- Lead by example in promoting the EHS culture, ensure all team members are compliant with safety procedures to include PPE adherence
- Identify and report Incident Free Events and ensure team members do the same
- Report and investigate any incidents
- Process Improvement
- Maintain and improve housekeeping through implementing 5S workplace organization standards.
- Identify inefficiencies and suggest improvements
- Support lean manufacturing or continuous improvement initiatives
- Support with the commissioning of new machinery
- Improve training materials and standard operating procedures
- Support creating a multi-skilled team who are able to cover all Cells
- Support in creating full and clear job instructions for all Cells
- Reporting & Communication
- Support with the facilitation of shift meetings, updating employees on key departmental priorities
- Work closely with the supervisory team to ensure relevant information is communicated between shifts
- Communicate updates to management and other departments as necessary
- Coordinate with maintenance, logistics, and quality teams
- Provide guidance on sensitive issues, gaining support from HR as needed.

Maintain full compliance with Howmet policies and procedures and conduct all activities in accordance with the Howmet Code of Conduct. Demonstrate a knowledge of and commitment to continuous improvement principles and techniques. Perform other duties as assigned.
