The successful candidate will join our Telford Engineering team and will be provided with the opportunity to complete an Engineering Degree on a part-time basis. The Trainee Engineer will develop engineering skills to support the manufacturing processes from raw material to end product, Application Engineering and Systems Engineering. The Telford location is part of the Industrial division of Howmet Fastening Systems, supplying a range of industrial markets across EMEA, including but not limited to renewable energy, transportation, civil engineering, building and construction, and agriculture.
Specific Responsibilities
- Hands on approach to solving engineering issues on a daily basis
- Develop designs and CAD drafting abilities
- Support improvement initiatives to increase the reliability of products, manufacturing tooling, manufacturing processes, and installation tooling
- Support projects on the continuous review and analysis of the efficiency and reliability of manufacturing processes, including tooling, heat treatment, coating, plating, lubricants
- Support the maintenance of up to date technical standards and drawing databases
General Company Support
- Perform other duties which may be assigned by the Engineering Manager to meet the needs of the business
- Support engineering, manufacturing and location management to achieve the needs and objectives of the business
- Work with the Engineering team to develop and support productivity improvements
- Maintain and operate in compliance with current Quality Management System, and EHS policies and procedures
