Responsibilities

  • Optimize site planning activities through the development and implementation of TOC (Theory of Constraints) / ATD (Adherence to Dispatch).
  • Level loading of production schedules through effective production control / liaising with both customer service and product management teams.
  • Maintain site's ERP system in line with EDI signals from customers data base, including WIP alignment, split orders.
  • Day to day management of site's inventory, including raw material / WIP / Finished goods control and procurement.
  • Ensuring optimal NWC whilst maintaining sufficient stock coverage across the site.
  • Host daily production reviews with Operation Team to highlight bottleneck areas and assist with identifying appropriate solutions.
  • Liaise with Dispatch Team to highlight orders which require expedited shipment methods to avoid customer shortages and line stops.
  • Establish and maintain effective forecasting models with Subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Daily communication to resolve any issues (logistic/quality/engineering) and coordinate internally to minimize the effect on throughput time.
  • Identify any backlogs or delays and collaborate with suppliers where required to resolve these efficiently.
  • Complete Supplier visits with Supply Chain Manager where required.

Specific Responsibilities Include:

  • Assists in achieving site's KPI’s, by practicing established planning procedures and techniques.
  • Scheduling and hosting operation daily reviews with Production Supervisors and Management when necessary.
  • Direct the monthly sales targets, closely working with production, engineering and quality.
  • Monitor execution of production plans and factory scheduling via work to list adherence and WIP not moved.
  • Arrange site transport as and when required for every department and follow this with ensuring GRN is completed for each delivery/collection.
  • Responsible for daily communication with a range of suppliers including Raw Materials.
  • Ensuring Redditch Supply Chain Team meets the requirements of both internal and external stakeholders.

Other Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide cover for other areas of the supply chain team in periods of absence and holiday.
  • Adapt a hands-on approach when required in busy periods, sometimes working outside the normal working environment.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in production planning (Preferred but not essential)

Experience and Background: Minimum 5 years of experience in Planning or Operations. Must have at least 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment. Proven interpersonal and leadership abilities to proactively lead a team of managerial and professional people and to interact effectively with individuals and groups both internal and external to the company and at all organizational levels.

Skills:

Physical Demand: Ability to lift pans and pack parts up to weights of 10KG when required. There may be periodic travel both locally and within Europe. Weekend travel and work and participation in conference calls and meetings during late night/early morning hours may be required occasionally.

Equipment Used: Standard office equipment (PC, phone, fax, copier, etc).

Work Environment: Position involves working in a manufacturing industry both office based and on the shopfloor.
