Working Hours
Normal hours of work are Monday to Friday inclusive. The postholder is required to work such hours as are necessary in order to satisfactorily perform the role.
Main Purpose of Job
To support the HR Manager in providing an efficient, effective and customer focused HR service which supports all aspects of an employee’s relationship and engagement including recruitment, retention, employee reward, engagement, health and wellbeing, whilst also ensuring compliance with employment legislation, company policies and procedures. This is a multi-site role working on-site across the 3 Metals locations.
Key Tasks and Accountabilities
The job description outlines the duties and responsibilities that an employee is expected to undertake and provide the framework against which their performance may be reviewed. It is not necessarily an exhaustive list of duties and other duties can be allocated as required to meet the needs of the business:
- Working closely with departments, assisting line managers to understand and implement policies and procedures.
- Promoting equality and diversity as part of the culture of the organisation.
- Liaising with a wide range of organisations involved in areas such as race relations, disability, gender, age, religion and health and safety.
- Recruiting staff - shortlisting, preparing interview administration, and attending interviews.
- Onboarding of new starters with inductions in required areas, HR check-ins and maintenance of the Probationary Period tracker.
- Completion of new starters in HR systems, GPS, Taleo, TMS.
- Ensuring all pay related details are communicated to staff and payroll via required procedures i.e. variable template spreadsheet/SharePoint.
- Assisting with the management of staff absence, Occ Health referrals, capability reviews and phased return to works.
- Maintaining all personnel and training records relating to all employees.
- Taking minutes and representing at grievance and implementing disciplinary hearings.
- Maintaining personnel record systems in accordance with current legislation.
- Establishing and maintaining good relationships between employers and employees.
- Managing all personnel related administration including (but not limited to): starter details, leaver details, pension details, right to work evidence.
- Ensure effective communications through attendance at the DMM, coordinating Quarterly Newsletter, updating notice boards.
- Support employee wellbeing initiatives in line with Company objectives.
- Assist with completion of ASATs and Company audits.
- Support with Hoshin/Company objectives as and when required.

Experience
Previous experience of working in fast-paced manufacturing organisation would be desirable, employee relations and Trade Unions, good knowledge of employment legislation and best practice, previously worked in HR at a similar level and managed complex casework up to appeal and dismissal, good experience of working on HR systems, confident to work within excel and produce reports and analyse data.
