Responsibilities:
- Manufacture, build, repair, and maintain mould tools, dies, jigs, fixtures, and gauges used in the production of gas turbine components.
- Operate a variety of machine tools, including lathes, milling machines, grinders, and CNC equipment, to produce parts with high precision.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications to plan and execute projects.
- Perform troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and repair of tools and dies.
- Ensure all tools meet quality standards and are in compliance with safety and regulatory guidelines.
- Collaborate with engineers and production staff to resolve tooling issues and make improvements to enhance production efficiency.
- Conduct tests on newly built or repaired tools to ensure they meet performance and quality standards.
- Maintain accurate records of tool usage, repairs, and maintenance activities.
Qualifications:
- O-Level or GCSE equivalent; completion of a recognised apprenticeship or vocational program in toolmaking or machining preferred.
- 5 years of experience in toolmaking or machining within a manufacturing or production environment.
- Proficiency with machine tools and techniques, including milling, grinding, and CNC programming.
- Strong knowledge of technical drawing reading and measurement techniques.
- Ability to work with a variety of materials, such as Tool Steels, Aluminium and Graphite (Electrodes).
- Excellent attention to detail, manual dexterity, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
