Responsibilities:
- The postholder is required to work such hours as are necessary in order to satisfactorily perform the role.
- This role will be required to work shifts as required by the Company. The current working pattern is known as the PANAMA Shift pattern, working 24/7, 12-hour shifts, Days/Nights on a 4-week rotation. This shift attracts a shift allowance.
- Candidates applying for this role must be legally authorised to work in the United Kingdom. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
Main Purpose of Job:
To effectively carry out the installation, maintenance, testing and repair of all equipment used within the manufacturing industry. To support the operations team to achieve their target and to maintain health & safety standards. To meet legislative requirements, meet company standards/Policy while ensuring optimum plant performance.
Key Tasks and Accountabilities:
- Assisting with the development of PPM systems and the forward scheduling of maintenance activities.
- Operational tasks to comply with legislation and company procedures.
- Fault diagnosis, repair and maintenance in a steel work / heavy engineering environment.
- Hydraulics/Pneumatic/Cooling Systems.
- Planning and scheduling planned and unplanned work.
- Liaise with client departments.
- Control maintenance tools, stores and equipment.
- Monitor maintenance costs.
- Improve production facilities.

Experience:
- Experience of working in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to follow job instructions / processes.
- A good understanding of the principles of Health & Safety at work.
- Experience of mechanical engineering in a production line/foundry environment.
- Capable of operating the site based computerised planned maintenance system to monitor and record all works carried out.
- Have a proven ability of fault finding and problem solving hydraulic/pneumatic/cooling systems.
- Be self-motivated and able to work with minimum supervision.
- Work on a Panama shift system may be required.

Qualifications:
