This is an opportunity to join a well‐established, independent firm that continues to grow steadily and invest in its people. The firm is looking to strengthen its accounts team with an experienced Accounts Senior who enjoys hands-on client work and wants a clear route forward. This is a role where you will have responsibility, visibility, and the chance to influence how work is delivered. Progression is realistic and based on performance, not time served.

As an Accounts Senior, you will take ownership of a varied client portfolio and play a key role in the delivery of high-quality accounts work. You will work closely with senior members of the firm while also supporting and reviewing the work of junior staff. Responsibilities will include:

  • Managing a portfolio of owner managed businesses and limited companies
  • Preparing and reviewing statutory accounts under FRS102
  • Preparing year-end working papers and reconciliations
  • Reviewing junior work, providing feedback, and supporting their development
  • Acting as a main point of contact for clients on day‐to‐day matters
  • Working closely with Directors and Partners to ensure deadlines and standards are met
  • Getting involved in ad‐hoc work and process improvements where appropriate

The successful Senior Accountant will have:

  • ACA or ACCA qualification. Candidates qualified by experience will also be considered
  • Solid UK practice experience in an accounts focused role
  • Strong working knowledge of FRS102
  • Experience reviewing work and supporting junior team members
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills and a supportive approach with clients
  • A practical, solutions-focused mindset
