We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Assistant to join our finance team on a temporary basis, with the potential for a permanent opportunity for the right candidate. This position is based in the Ascot/Virginia Water area and offers a competitive rate, depending on experience. You will be responsible for supporting the accounts payable function and ensuring the accurate and timely processing of invoices and payments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process and match purchase invoices to purchase orders and delivery notes.
- Ensure all invoices are coded correctly and comply with company policies.
- Prepare payment runs and ensure timely payment of suppliers.
- Handle supplier queries, resolve discrepancies, and build strong supplier relationships.
- Maintain accurate records of invoices and payments, ensuring proper filing and documentation.
- Assist in month-end and year-end processes, including reconciliation of accounts payable ledgers.
- Work closely with other departments to ensure the smooth running of the accounts payable function.
- Assist with ad-hoc finance tasks as required by the Finance Manager.
The successful Accounts Payable Assistant will have/be:
- Previous experience in accounts payable or a similar finance role is highly desirable.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in processing financial transactions.
- Good understanding of accounting principles and the purchase-to-pay cycle.
- Proficient in using accounting software (experience with mention software if applicable would be advantageous).
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to liaise with both internal teams and external suppliers.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- A proactive, problem-solving attitude and ability to work independently.
- A flexible and positive approach to work in a fast-paced environment.
